Our Team

The Rev. Norman John Riebe has three decades of involvement as an Anglican Priest and has served as Rector of several parishes in California, Texas, and as an Assisting/Supply Priest in North Carolina. He is a graduate of the Church Divinity School of the Pacific (CDSP) located in Berkeley California and received his Master of Divinity Degree in May 1995. We all know him as “Fr. John.”

He grew up in Yuma, Arizona, graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering. He then served as an Air Force Officer and was an Instructor Radar Navigator on B-52s during the Cold and Gulf Wars.

After relocating to the Charlotte NC area in 2015, Fr. Riebe served as a Hospice Chaplain and became Vicar of Saint James Anglican Church, Lake Wylie SC in 2019.

Fr. John is passionate about Pastoral Care, Discipleship & Teaching, and sharing the Love of God to others. His love of life and genuine nature show through his preaching, humor, and compassion.

He is married to Kathie and together have two grown children and one granddaughter who live in California. During his personal time, Fr. John enjoys grilling & cooking, gardening, golf, music and reading.
